Yesterday, in the midst of a very busy time, I took a nap. Not on the sofa, not in a recliner with the tv on, but in my bed. I pulled the shades, darkened the room and took a proper nap. When I woke up, the remaining things I needed to accomplish for the day seemed much easier. My nervous system was much calmer. I got more done, peacefully, than I would have without having chosen to pull everything to a stop for just a little while. Sometimes self care is verrrryyy sleeeeeepy. Love yourself first.
